Since 1998, the Eurobot competition has brought together student and amateur teams from around the world around a shared challenge: designing and building autonomous robots that compete on a common playing field, with a new theme every year. Since 2009, Eurobot Junior has extended this adventure to young people aged roughly 12 to 18, with wire-guided robots and a strong educational focus.
Every year, national qualification events are organised in some twenty participating countries with the support of national organising committees (NOCs). Each country’s best teams then meet at the international finals, an event of significant scale: several dozen teams, hundreds of participants, thousands of visitors, volunteers, media and partners over several days.
The finals are hosted by a different city or region each year, alternating between countries.
