The aruco tags are glued on the wood by themselves. After trying with leftover vinyl from last year and Giant Jenga blocks we found out that the tag does not adhere very well to the wood especially since it is such a small surface area.

In order to improve adhesion and also practicality when preparing the playing elements I would suggest wrapping the entire box with a vinyl that has yellow/blue and neutral color + aruco tag on it. Not only would it help with the tag sticking but also save so much time in making the playing elements if we could skip painting in three different colors.

What are your thoughts on this?

Have you actually tested the vinyl as supposed to be done with the aruco tag from this year ? It is meant to be wrapped on the width of the wood, which is already quite an improvement compared to just the aruco tag.

I missed that, so sticking it on should not be an issue 

Would it still not be more convenient to have a wrapper for the entire block? No need to paint and smoother surface overall
