The hazelnuts surface condition

Hello, to simulate the hazelnuts, we bought a long wooden stick that cross dimencions are 3cmx5cm and we cut it into 15cm lengths.
In our experiments with the pneumatic suction cup, we can hold the hazelnuts from any surface, but we cannot hold it from the surface where we cut, because of the grains of wood.

My question is,

Will all the surfaces of the hazelnuts be equally smooth and clean even the cutting side ?

Hello,

The game element depend on the organizer of the match.

So we cannot garanty the smooth of the element surface for all match.

For the pneumatic cup, you have the vinyle surface onthe game element.
