The Winners of Eurobot 2005
Demonstrating the growing success of Eurobot, three new countries are
joining the competition this year. The UK, Maroco and Russia are indeed
being represented for the first time. What are their impressions?
First of all, the Russian team feels excited by the friendly atmosphere of
the pits zone. The 4 people of the team have been working for the last 6
months on Imec, their robot. Currently, they seem to be having some
technical trouble, but are confident to pass the next homologations. To the
question When are you going to sleep, the only answer an engineer of the
team gave us was: After. Life is a matter of priorities !
This year, Maroco has been part of the competition for the first time.
Youssef Elouali, the only member of his team has successfully passed the
homologations and played his two first matches. Unfortunately, Atlas, his
robot, has encountered some technical trouble, too. However, Youssef, who
has already won the cup with the French team, stays optimist about the
reconfiguration of his robot. Although he hasnt slept for the past two
days, he remains positive.
Double Deckers, the first British team ever part of Eurobot, exhibits his
two robots, Rose and Hammer. Their specialities are respectively raising up
the squittles and very fast attack. The team has also passed the
homologations. The results of the first to matches are a loss and a draw.
Not having ever taken part of any robot cup, they notice a pleasant
atmosphere.
